Description
- Develop prototypes for new products or components using CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques including 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining.
- Demonstrate proficiency in comprehending 3D-CAD files, conducting virtual assemblies, implementing Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, and generating high-quality manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct thorough testing and analysis of prototypes to evaluate performance, durability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to iterate on prototype designs and incorporate feedback.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce raw material waste, and enhance product quality.
- Design and implement fixtures, tools, and jigs to support manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to ensure smooth production flow.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for prototyping and production ensuring quality control standards are met.
- Document all phases of the prototyping and manufacturing process, including specifications, test results, and production procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in prototyping and manufacturing.
- Preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) document and associated documentation.
Mandatory Skills:-
- Proven experience in prototyping and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and rapid prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate design concepts into functional prototypes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards.
